At JohnsonFit, LLC today is another day to grind and reveal the best of ourselves. With the holiday season right around the corner, I wanted to take some time today to reflect on the importance of the people in your life. I recently published a post to Facebook that discusses the 4 types of people that we can surround ourselves with. That post is included below.
Choosing to surround yourself with people that encourage greatness and support you in becoming the greatest version of yourself is central to a healthy lifestyle. We call these people the lifters and thrusters. The lifters build us up constantly. In us, they see the highest level of value, all of the time! It feels amazing to be around them.
Thrusters challenge you to take the steps necessary to develop more, to push harder, to achieve the goals we set for ourselves. Being around them allows us as individuals, to see the best qualities of ourselves. They see what we are capable of, even when we struggle to see it in ourselves.
This week University of Michigan Football Legend Touchdown Billy Taylor offered me and my company a profound review. In the simple act of kindness, I found another lifter for JohnsonFit, LLC! It is through the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of great people that we're able to achieve the quality of life that we enjoy in the twenty-first century…
I personally admire the story of Dr. Billy Taylor. I admire his strength, his compassion, and his dedication to seeing change through for his community and the world. Dr. Billy Taylor went on to share his story with others. Dr. Taylor is a genuine person who is open about the challenges that he faced as a younger man.
Dr. Billy Taylor's story has inspired a biography, Get Back Up: The Billy Taylor Story (2005), The film: Perseverance: The Story of Dr. Billy Taylor (2012), and so much more. Billy Taylor's story is the story of a man who learned to fight for himself- and then give back to others.
As we come into this holiday season I want you to take a good inventory of your personal life, the people you surround yourself with, and the goals you have designed for your success. I want you to make sure that the people you spend the most time with are lifters and thrusters. I want you to make sure that the action that you take in your community is charitable, kind, and progressively moving everyone forward.
A healthy body is a great place to start. A healthy life requires personal reflection, critical evaluations of ourselves, and the lived daily reminder that we deserve excellence. At JohnsonFit, LLC when we say "Join The Nation"- What that means is surround yourself with great and positive people. Where we grow together.
This blog post is dedicated to the lives that have been positively impacted by Dr. Billy Taylor. His work in the Detroit metro area to build great men, bring back loving and supportive husbands (from addiction) and provide 2nd chances- examples the Nation of greatness I am talking about. Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for paving the way! Thank you for shining through the darkness. Thank you for being a living example of exceptional change and lived greatness.
